Early American Patterns for Crewel and Embroidery Edited by Rita Weiss 1975 Softcover. $4		This is a Dover Needlework Series Publication. This unique book offers 75 different designs and 2 complete alphabets It includes floral motifs, realistic representations of marigolds and buttercups, as well as semi-abstractions in Pennsylvania Dutch motifs, realistic birds, baskets, butterflies, etc. Also includes other designs, such as anchors, suns, borders, a kitten in a shoe, unicorn, and forest scene. They are designs from such early sources as Godet's Lady's Book, Peterson's Magazine, and Suzanne Champan's Early American Design Motifs. These are iron-on transfers, but I can not guarantee that they work, as this book, which has been owned by me, is fairly old. It is in excellent condition, but I have not tested the transfers.
